October’s Berlin Content Marketing Dinner was held on October 18th at Restaurant Gugelhof. Our attendees included a mix of local marketing managers, from freelancers to those employed by technology startups.
The main topics of conversation were how to maintain positive mental health and wellness in startup environments, and finding the best marketing tools for your content setup.
Maintaining mental health and wellness
One problem that many attendees mentioned was the challenge of maintaining mental health and wellness in a fast-paced and demanding work environment.
Potential solutions discussed included:
-
Setting boundaries.
Don’t be tempted to answer work messages at the weekend. Turn off notifications for apps like Slack if you have them installed on your phone.
-
Lead by example.
The tone at the leadership table dictates what work culture is acceptable at each company. How can leaders help their teams here?
-
Efficiency relies on mental health.
Without prioritizing our mental health, we can’t perform to the best of our abilities. Prioritize yourself and set boundaries that work for you.
Marketing tools
Finding the right tool to perform all your content needs can be difficult.
Most attendees at the dinner use Asana for both project management and executing content strategy. Others use Google Suite for writing and collaborating on written content. Airtable is used by some attendees, but as more of a glorified Excel replacement than as a project management tool.
