My personality goes something like this: analytical, structured, creative and introverted. Introversion might be the direct reason I have no problem staying home all day drinking coffee and writing. It’s what fuels my spirit, and it rejuvenates my creativity. I also love to plan, and I’ve been able to conquer so many things in life [so far] because I’ve never feared dreaming and doing. What better way to start this post than state what I’ve already accomplished. I want to share my excitement for the many wonderful goals that I have already accomplished and currently living. Here we go:
I moved abroad. It’s been my dream for years to have the experience to live in another country. I knew it would challenge me in new ways, and I’d discover the aspects of myself that I never thought of before. So, I live in Berlin, and I’m studying my masters. Which brings me to number 2. Currently conquering a master program in business. Here I am. I’m ultimately fulfilling two dreams at once, by getting my masters in Leadership and Management. It’s hard, but it’s so exciting to see the opportunities that are emerging from this experience. Then, there’s the reason for this blog.
I have an unbelievable craving for travel and adventure, and I’m in living in a major hub of Europe. Upcoming adventures include Riga, Latvia, Prague, Czech and Poznan, Poland. Will you follow along?
You can say, currently, I’m soaking in these three goals and enjoying every moment of them. Everyday, I remind myself how lucky I am to be discovering this beautiful continent and fulfilling my dreams. Let’s take a breather for a second and announce something epic. I’m turning 25 years old in two months. At the end of June, I would have passed a quarter of my life, and I’m happy to say, I’m impressed with what I did with it. I traveled solo to multiple countries. I got my first degree. I lived in multiple places. I began my career. Now, let’s look forward to the next 5 years. What should I do with them? I’d say enjoy, live and be happy, but let’s be more specific than that.
TRAVEL NORTH AMERICA
I’ve traveled the Americas extensively, but not enough. It’s crazy huge, and I look forward to planning road trips across the country.
GO SOMEWHERE EXOTIC
Until now, I’ve traveled and stayed in comfy hotel and hostel rooms. I’m looking for an epic experience that will take me to unknown regions, somewhere the typical tourist doesn’t go and somewhere that feels like the end of the earth. The Arctic.
STAY UP ALL NIGHT AND DANCE
I’ve never been to a disco club. This is an experience that I feel every 20 something needs to at least experience once. It might be once, but I can say that I did it.
CONQUER THE GERMAN LANGUAGE AND LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE
Yes, I said conquer it, and I have a long way to go. I want to be fluent in German within the next two years, and I believe it’s a goal that I can achieve. Once I conquer German, maybe I’ll move to Spanish.
DO THESE ADRENALINE SPORTS: WHITE WATER RAFTING, BUNGEE JUMP & SKYDIVE
I’m pretty uneasy with heights and waters, so I plan to push myself outside of my comfort zone.
BECOME AN EXPERT IN THE MARKETING FIELD
Until now, my experience in marketing has been very broad and generic. This was great for my early career, because it encouraged me to try everything. However, now I’m entering the next stage of my career, and I want to become an expert. I want to be that “goto” person. I’m thinking an expert in inbound marketing and email marketing. I also wish to continue to develop my writing, social media and design skills. I never want to say “no I can’t do that.”
BECOME FINANCIALLY AND LOCATION INDEPENDENT
These two goals ultimately go together, because I want to learn how to live minimal. This means no 30 pairs of shoes, no big house and debt. I want to live within my means, and learn to seek experiences not stuff. This will make me location independent, meaning I want to feel like I can ‘pick up and go’ anywhere I want. I’m never boxed. I’m never limited.
BECOME A WINE EXPERT
Yes, a snob. I wish to become a wine snob, and I want to be that person at dinner that tells you all the difference textures and unimportant facts about wine. You have to become an expert in something.
In two months, I will be 25, and I’m already thinking about the exciting adventures that are coming my way in the next years. I consider myself incredibly blessed with the opportunities that have already come my way, and I will continue to shape and follow new opportunities in the future. Life’s an adventure. What is on your things to do before 30 list?
I never want to stop, and I want to make an oath to myself to explore two new places every year. This will continue to open my mind and create lasting memories.
